Family access takes two steps — one in the app, one in person. Both matter.
Go to Account Settings → Family Access → Add Family Members and enter their name and email. They get an invite link and create their own NestVault login — their own email, their own account password. Your whole family is included in your plan; there’s no extra charge per person.
Their new login gets them to the door; your vault password is what opens it. They’ll enter it at every sign-in to decrypt the vault. NestVault never transmits your vault password — not in the invite email, not in the app — by design, so this step is yours: share it in person, on paper, or via a shared password manager. Do not send it by text or email. More on why in How to share your vault password safely.
An invited family member sees your entire vault — the shared vault password decrypts everything. You can keep specific entries private with the per-entry “Share with” control, but the default is everything. Read What can family members see? before your first invite, not after.
