How the net worth view works

The Net Worth tab adds up the dollar fields across your vault — balances, account values, property values — and subtracts what you owe (mortgages, remaining loan balances). You get the total, an assets-vs-liabilities split, and a breakdown by category.

Where the numbers come from

Entries you’ve given dollar amounts to. It’s only as current as what you’ve typed in — NestVault doesn’t connect to your bank or pull statements, by design. The one live number: Bitcoin holdings are valued at the current BTC price, based on the quantity you’ve recorded.

Privacy notes

• Dollar amounts are encrypted like every other field — the math happens in your browser after your vault unlocks.
• Balance and value fields are among those deliberately excluded from search, so amounts never sit in a search index.

My Assets and Net Worth answer different questions: My Assets is what exists and where (no dollars, for your family); Net Worth is what it adds up to (for you).
