What is the Paperwork Inbox?

Last reviewed: July 6, 2026

The Paperwork Inbox is the holding area for documents you haven’t filed into a category yet. It exists so that “I’ll deal with this later” still gets the document into the vault — encrypted and safe — instead of leaving it in your camera roll.

Getting documents in

Drop files straight onto the Paperwork Inbox view or click to browse — PDFs, images, Word docs, and text files all work. Anything you scan or upload without picking a category lands here too. A badge in the navigation shows how many documents are waiting.

Sorting them out

Each document in the inbox has a “Move to category” button — file it under Insurance, Legal, Taxes, or wherever it belongs. Nothing forces you to sort; documents in the inbox are just as encrypted and just as viewable as documents anywhere else. Filing simply makes things easier for your family to find later.

As with everything in your vault, documents encrypt on your device before uploading. We never see the contents — not in the inbox, not anywhere.
